What is the Yahoo! Photos migration?
Yahoo! will be ending their “Yahoo! Photos” service on September 20, 2007 and any current user of this service will be forced to offload their content if they wish to retain their photos. Yahoo! Photos is offering you the option to “migrate” your photos to Photobucket, and we’re glad you’ve chosen us as your new image hosting service!
What can I do with my Photobucket account?
Photobucket is the web's most popular creative hub, linking billions of personal photos, graphics, slideshows and videos daily to hundreds of thousands of web sites, including: MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, Friendster, eBay, Craigslist, Blogger and Xanga. In addition to linking, Photobucket users share their personal digital media by email, instant
messaging, and mobile devices.
Photobucket offers both a free and paid membership. Although you will initially create a “Free” account, you will always have the option to upgrade to “Pro”. Please click on the links below to learn more about what is included in a Photobucket account:

How will the migration to Photobucket work?
When you log into your Yahoo! Photos account, you will be presented with a landing page that will provide you with additional information about the approaching closure. Follow the simple steps below to migrate your photos to Photobucket.
1.) From the Yahoo! Photos landing page, click on the Photobucket option at the bottom of the page.
2.) Click on the “start” button to proceed.
3.) Verify your Yahoo! ID and Password.
4.) Agree to the terms indicated.
5.) Create a new Photobucket account or log into an existing one.
6.) You will receive an email that confirms your photos are ready to move.
How long will it take to migrate my photos?
Our goal is to transfer your photos from Yahoo! as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, this process may not be instantaneous. The amount of time it takes will depend on the number and size of images being transferred and the amount of accounts that are in front of you in the migration queue. In general, the migration should begin almost immediately and should be completed within 24-72 hours. Please allow at least 48 hours after receiving the email confirmation indicating that the photos are ready to move before contacting Photobucket with status requests.
Once the migration has begun, you will no longer have access to use your Yahoo! Photos account.
How will I know when the migration has completed?
We will send you a confirmation email to the address you used to register your Photobucket account with when your photos have actually been moved. The status of your migration will also be displayed at this time, and will include one of the following pieces of information:
1.) Fail - If 0 photos are uploaded, or 20 photos fail, you will receive a "fail” email. If this happens, you will be able to log back into your photos.yahoo.com account to try the migration again, or try a different affiliate to migrate your photos to.
2.) Partial Fail - If 1 or more photo(s) are uploaded, and less than 20 photos fail, you will receive a "partial fail" email with links to the hi-res URLs to the failed images so you can download them directly to your computer. You will no longer be able to log back into your photos.yahoo.com account ever again.
3.) Success - If 0 photos fail and more than one photo is uploaded, you will receive a “success” email. You will no longer be able to log back into your photos.yahoo.com account ever again.
